Awakening with amnesia, she finds herself in a zombie-filled mansion in Saga Prefecture , discovering that she has become a zombie herself when she is shot by a frightened police officer.
A man named Kotaro Tatsumi explains that he has resurrected Sakura, who has been dead for ten years, along with several other zombie girls from various eras to form an idol group and revitalize Saga.
Needing stimulation to awaken the other girls from their braindead state, Kotaro brings everyone to perform at a death metal concert. Despite Sakura's doubts, the girls react to the music and make it through the performance through screaming and headbanging alone, during which Sakura recalls some of her memories from when she was alive.
Although the performance ultimately ends in disaster, almost all of the other zombies manage to regain their senses the next day.
Displeased with their situation, the zombies Ai Mizuno and Junko Konno attempt to leave the mansion, prompting a worried Sakura to follow after them.
The girls try to evade a group of rappers trying to hit on them, only to encounter the same policeman from before and run back to the mansion after being shot at again.
The next day, the girls put on a show at Saga Castle , in which they nearly break their masquerade as regular humans when Tae Yamada — the only zombie yet to regain her senses — is accidentally decapitated on stage.
Sakura gets into an argument with her rebellious bandmate Saki Nikaido over Tae's head, which escalates into a rap battle that convinces the audience that the fiasco is another part of their act.
As Kotaro makes plans for a live flash mob performance in front of Karatsu Station , the girls try to decide on a name for their group, ultimately settling on the name Franchouchou after the sound of Tae's sneezing.
While the others motivate themselves to practice their routine overnight, Ai and Junko remain skeptical, leading the others to begin the performance without them.
The performance runs into trouble after Sakura forgets her lyrics, but Ai and Junko step in to save the show, managing to attract at least one fan.
With their budget running out, Kotaro sends the girls to perform at a hot spring resort in Ureshino to earn a sponsorship deal with a pharmaceutical company.
After taking a sightseeing tour and discussing their goals as idols, the girls discover that the skin patches they are promoting are effective at loosening their stiffened muscles, which they use to good effect during their performance.
Later that night, Sakura, Saki, and Junko sneak into the hot springs against Kotaro's instructions, only to be spotted out of their human disguises by the pharmaceutical company's president, terrifying her and resulting in the girls losing the sponsorship deal.
To raise their profile, the girls perform in a commercial for the fried chicken restaurant Drive-In Tori in Imari , which is edited with footage of Tae attempting to devour the company's mascot.
Later, the girls participate in the Kashima Gatalympics while wearing promotional Franchouchou T-shirts as a publicity stunt.
When the girls get covered in mud in the first round, they are forced to keep themselves dirty to avoid washing their human makeup off, which ruins their self-advertisement.
After Tae wins first prize, Sakura remembers giving her a spare shirt and tells her to remove her muddy clothes, only to discover that the clean shirt underneath is actually for Drive-In Tori.
Meanwhile, a journalist in attendance named Shinta Okoba recognizes 4's resemblance to Junko Konno after viewing the Drive-In Tori commercial and decides to investigate her.
As Franchouchou hold a photo-op session with a small group of fans, Ai and Junko clash with each other over their different opinions on how idols should interact with their fans.
Sakura hears from Junko about how hard she tried to become an idol in life, only to die in a plane crash before her first tour in Kyushu; feeling her outdated mindset on idols is hindering the other girls, Junko contemplates leaving Franchouchou.
Auden and Louis MacNeice that was published in MacNeice wrote in one of the poems that he went along with his friend and fellow poet Auden on the latter's proposed trip to Iceland because he had "nothing better to do".
It is clear that there is no such nonchalance, real or feigned, on the part of Fidler and Gislason, who immerse themselves in every experience and encounter, and the reader along with them.
We thought that going there would take us deeper into the minds of a people living in a faraway land operating under a moral code that looks quite strange at times to us.
We also set out to solve a family mystery. His complex family story was the subject of a beautiful and moving memoir The Promise of Iceland.

Its such an evocative landscape and the history is fascinating. This book isnt just a retelling of some of the sagas beautifully done its also a memoir of sorts, a part history of Iceland and some of the events and people that have shaped it, and a bit of a travelogue too.
They visit many of the sites mentioned in the sagas and capture the atmosphere of the country that is Sagaland.

Before I start this review let me say, if you get the opportunity to see the authors speak about Saga Land - do it. Saga Land is part compendium of the Icelandic sagas, part personal journey and memoir for Gislason.
I have to say I loved every minute of this book. I enjoyed learning about Iceland's history, both in early and recent times.
The sagas are fascinating, bloody and filled with honour. Snorri's history was rich and epic, Gudrun's saga was haunting and memorable.
I could get lost in Before I start this review let me say, if you get the opportunity to see the authors speak about Saga Land - do it.
I could get lost in these stories forever. Kari's journey and personal reflections were another highlight. I found myself tearing up when he gets his moment of truth, a moment that the reader slowly builds towards throughout the book.
I was surprised at how emotionally invested I found myself in this journey. Richard has a beautiful simplicity in his words - I was hooked on every chapter.
The switches between Richard and Kari's chapters are seamless and I found myself enjoying their two intertwined and complimentary paths.
Visually it is a stunning book, a large hard-cover that has gorgeous plates at the beginning and end taken by the boyd on their trip to Iceland and with more images scattered throughout.
Reading Saga Land was a great experience, one I highly recommend taking on yourself. Do yourself a favour and read Saga Land. View 1 comment. Jan 16, RG rated it really liked it.
When I read non-fiction I like to read chapters slowly over time. This one spiked my interest as it contained sagas and historical context about Vikings or more specially Iceland.
It also involved a slight adventure story, and self dicsovery for one of the authors. The Scandinavian history or Viking sagas have always been some of my favourite fables.
This really was a great read. Having been to Iceland, and being a tourist myself, whilst reading I honestly had flashbacks of my trip, and it was When I read non-fiction I like to read chapters slowly over time.
Having been to Iceland, and being a tourist myself, whilst reading I honestly had flashbacks of my trip, and it was wonderfully done with the writing of the current trip plus mini chapters of sagas.
If you enjoy that era and place this would be well worth your time. May 12, Emily Fitzpatrick rated it it was amazing. I loved this book, it was like sitting down for a chat with someone really interesting.
Relaxing , informative, beautiful. Different to what I usually read, would love to find more like it. I loved this mixture of history and autobiography!
Saga Land is filled with nordic mithology, and the sagas that are hiding valuable historical facts. They're the family stories of the Vikings who settled in Iceland in the Middle Ages.
They're about real man and women. He goes to Iceland with his friend Richard, and there they're visiting the places from I loved this mixture of history and autobiography!
He goes to Iceland with his friend Richard, and there they're visiting the places from sagas and discovering Kari's background.
It's sooo easy to travel to Iceland with them, and it's not hard to imagine why everybody wants to return to Iceland once they visit it.Sagaland ist ein Brettspiel aus dem Spieleverlag Ravensburger für 2 bis 6 Spieler ab 6 Jahren.
